Sir/Madam, all of us are familiar with the fact that computers have found their way into each and every field. Computers are ubiquitious! In fact, not knowing computers is a sign of ignorance these days. Be it Physics or Medicine or Arts or Commerce! I can say this with full conviction that I need sound knowledge of computers, if I have to take my career somewhere!

I haven't changed to computers from physics! Physics still IS and ALWAYS BE, my subject of interest! Reason why I have obtained post graduate degree in computers is to have an additional qualification to my already existing high profile career.

I have sound base of Physics. I have already studied microprocessors, solid state electronics during my graduation. Studying computers is more like enhancing my career rather than switching from one field to other.

Please dont mention that you aren't getting a proper job.

This statement can invite another question like, "What do you mean by 'proper' job?" or "How can you be so sure that you will get a proper job in computers?"

Tell the interviewer that with the strong base in physics has helped you apply the analytical and quantitative knowledge that is required for computer. And you wanted to venture into latest technology because you find it challenging as Physics.
