Whats some good hardware and software to introduce my 75 yr. old parents to computers?

I've only had 10 yrs. of "self taught" and I'm on my third computer. I've found with each upgrade, computers are getting more and more user friendly and I think my parents are ready. Would software and tutorals geared toward kids be better than stuff for newbies? RScott

I recommend you start out with a basic computer setup--mouse, keyboard, monitor, and printer. For starters, I'd recommend a typical word-processing program (your parents grew up in the age of typewriters), and show them how to type a letter. Then, show them how send e-mails, and also how to use the Internet to get news, weather, sports, etc (if they should miss this information on TV). In other words, show them the abilities that are most appropriate to them. Also, Video Professor might guide you and them in the right direction.
