Why do so many people think Emachines are bad computers?

I think Emachines are good quality computers but people always say they're horrible just because they're not Dell or HP.

My ex had one and was constantly replacing the fan.

I have an emachine T6212 and was able to easily change the power supply to a standard 550 watt unit. Works great now for almost 2 years.
e-machines are only good if you want something cheap and you are only going to be using it for internet and basic computer stuff. They are low end computers with nothing current added to them. Dell is a horrible brand. What are you talking about. So I would consider an e-machine a good computer only if you are looking for out-dated technology or just a basic computer for minimal use.

Emachines are not ''bad'' computers really. If you are under a strict budget and want a moderately modern computer, they are a decent choice.

Dell's value line computers are no better than Emachines. If you buy a $299 Dell Dimension and a $299 Emachines computer, you will see about the same amount of breakdowns in about the same amount of time.
