Can I install Quickbooks on an external hard drive and be able to use it on multiple computers?

I need to be able to work on the same account at my home computer and on my office computer depending on where I am. I don't want to install the program on 2 different computers because this would be a pain to have to sync up every day, so is there any reason why i can't install the program, as well as the job files on an external hard drive and use it on either computer?

No. This won't work. When you install QuickBooks, it makes changes to your Window registry. If you then try to use the hard drive on a different pc, the required registry entries won't be found and the program won't run. Some people have had some success with having their data file on a portable drive, but there are limitations with this as well.
