My external hard drive is not working. How do I get my computers to read it again?

Tried it on 4 different computers. It gets picked up in my ''safely remove hardware'' but not on my computer. How do I get it to work again?

Make sure it isn't conflicting with any other drive letters, (right click My Computer and select Manage, then look for it under disc management)

if that isn't the issue, could be your external is faulty(most likely its faulty)

try formatting the drive...the file system could be corrupted...same thing happened to me..and it worked fine after formatting
