Photos not able to open in emails to me. different computers, diff. senders, same problme?

Just recently, photos in many emails sent to me are not able to be opened, just a red X with file name or just a box. Happens on 2 different computers and from different senders. Nothing I do will allow me to save or view the photos. Never happened until last week. Help? Thanks,
