I want to add a a hard drive to my network that I could access from all of my computers on my networ

I have a linksys wireless router with two computers connected to it. A third ethernet wire goes to a linksys workgroup switch and three computers are connected to that. I was hoping to click my computer on each computer and be able to access the network hard drive there, maybe as h: What would I have to get and do to set this up? Thanks!

There are network storage devices that you can purchase that will do this just fine. I personally recommend Western Digital. It's the only brand of hard drive I use.

The unit I pasted the link for is 2 Terrabytes and costs $800 retail, direct from Western Digital. It's remotely accessible via Wired or Wireless connections. Smaller units may be better suited to your needs.

That one is sold out of stock now, check the 2nd link. Please.

You're welcome. Thank you for choosing my answer as the best one. Report It

just add the hard disk to the server and share it then u can aceess

if in the case of work group connect the hard idsk to any computer and share it then u can access it fromevery where in your network
I hate to over-simplify, but your are not adding a hard drive to a network, you are adding a hard drive to a computer. All that other stuff is bogus.
