How can i share my dial-up internet between 2 computers?

I have 2 computers running windows xp home sp2, both have ethernet adapters and i have a crossover cable.



How can i share my dial-up internet between 2 computers?virus scan



Yes you can, but just to let you know the connection on the second computer will be a little slower then the connection already is on the first computer.



Physical Connections:



-Phone line from wall to modem port in computer #1



-Ethernet crossover cable from computer #1 ethernet port to Computer #2 ethernet port



On the main computer open internet explorer. Click on tools--%26gt;Internet options and select the connections tab. Click on the setup button and answer the wizards questions turning on ICS (Internet Connection Sharing)



On computer #2 you will need to run the same wizard and select the option that says connects to the internet through another computer.



You will also need to setup the IP addresses manually on each computers ethernet card so they can talk to each other.

you could hardwire them to each other or you could hook up a wireless network through a router in your house. dial up will still be slow.
get one of thoes spliter things from radioshack
that would be a really bad idea...dial up is already slow enough.
